Troubleshooting Facebook Page Connectivity
This guide provides solutions to common issues that can prevent your organization from connecting to a Facebook Page or publishing content.
"My Facebook Page is not showing up"
If your Page doesn't appear in the list when you try to connect, it's often due to permissions or being logged into the wrong account.
- Check your Personal Profile Permissions: The Facebook account you are using must have Admin-level access to the Page you are trying to connect.
- New Pages Experience: Navigate to your Page and click on Professional Dashboard. Then, select Page Access. Under "People with Facebook access," confirm your profile is listed and has Full Control.
- Classic Pages: From your Page's settings, go to Page Roles and confirm you are listed as an Admin.
- Log into the Correct Account: Double-check that you are signed in to the correct personal Facebook account that has the required permissions for the Page. Using an incognito or private browser window can help ensure you're logged into the right account.
- Reauthorize App Permissions: If you are using a third-party tool to manage your Page, the connection may have expired. You might need to re-authorize the app's permissions. Go to your Facebook personal profile's Settings & privacy > Settings > Business Integrations. Find the app you're using and make sure all permissions are granted.

"I lost access to my Page"
Regaining access to a Page can be a complex process, but there are a few steps you can take.
- Regain Access through Business Settings: If you have access to your organization's Business Manager, you may be able to re-add yourself as an Admin. Go to Facebook Business Settings > Accounts > Pages, find your Page, and try to add yourself with the Admin role.
- Submit a Dispute to Facebook Support: If you've been removed from all Admin roles and cannot regain access through Business Manager, you can submit an Admin Dispute Request. Be prepared to provide documentation that proves your organization's ownership of the Page. This may include a government-issued ID, business registration documents, and a signed statement.
- Report a Hacked Account: If you believe your account was hacked, visit Facebook's hacked account page and follow the recovery process there first.
"My posts are failing on Facebook"
If your posts are failing, consider the following checklist.
- Check Page Status: Your Page may have been unpublished or restricted by Facebook due to a violation of Community Standards. To check this, go to your Page's Settings and look for a Page Quality section. If the Page is unpublished, you may be able to appeal the decision.
- Review Permissions: If a post is failing, it may be because your permissions were changed. The Facebook account publishing the content must have at least an Editor or Admin role to create posts.
- Check for Community Standards Violations: The content of your post (text, image, or a linked URL) may have been flagged as abusive or as a violation of Facebook's Community Standards. Try rewriting the post or replacing the image/link.
- Invalid Access Token: Your access token may have expired. This can happen if you change your Facebook password or don't post for an extended period. The solution is to re-authenticate your connection with the tool you're using.
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): If your Page requires 2FA for management, you must have it enabled on your personal profile to publish content.
