This guide walks you through creating a new TikTok account or converting an existing personal account to a Business Account.
Before You Start
- Download the TikTok app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Have your organization's name, email address, and logo ready.
- You can also manage your account at tiktok.com from a desktop browser.
How to Create a TikTok Account
If your organization does not already have a TikTok account, create one first.
- Open the TikTok app and tap Sign Up.
- Choose to sign up with your organization's email address or phone number. Use a professional, shared email if possible.
- Create a strong password and verify your email or phone number.
- Choose a username that is easy for your audience to recognize and search for (e.g., @YourOrganizationName).
How to Switch to a Business Account
Once you have a TikTok account, switch it to a Business Account to unlock publishing through Social Cascade.
- Open the TikTok app and go to your Profile tab.
- Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Settings and privacy.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Switch to Business Account.
- Choose a category that best describes your organization (e.g., "Health & Wellness," "Education," "Non-Profit").
- Confirm your selection. Your account is now a Business Account.
After You Switch: Complete Your Profile
Take these steps to make your TikTok Business Account ready for publishing.
- Add a Profile Photo: Upload your organization's logo or a recognizable image.
- Write a Bio: Add a concise description of your organization (80-character limit). Include relevant keywords.
- Add a Website Link: Business Accounts can add a clickable website link to their profile.
