Deleting or Rescheduling TikTok Posts
Overview
TikTok videos that have already been published to TikTok cannot be deleted through Social Cascade or other third-party apps. TikTok does not allow published videos to be removed via integration APIs—you must delete them directly in the TikTok app (same pattern as Instagram). You can delete or reschedule TikTok posts that are still scheduled and have not yet published.
Before You Start
- You must be an Admin or Editor on your team to delete scheduled posts or change schedules.
- Deleting a scheduled post removes it from Social Cascade and prevents it from publishing—it does not affect videos already live on TikTok.
How to Delete a Scheduled TikTok Post
If your TikTok post has not yet been published (status is "Scheduled" or similar):
- Open the Calendar in the Social Cascade web app.
- Click the scheduled TikTok post.
- Choose Delete (or the trash icon) and confirm.
The post is removed from your calendar and will not publish to TikTok.
Published TikTok Videos: Delete in the TikTok App
If your video has already posted to TikTok, Social Cascade cannot remove it from TikTok. Delete it where it was published:
- Open the TikTok app (or tiktok.com while logged in).
- Go to your Profile and open the video.
- Use the menu (⋯ or ⋮) and choose Delete (or equivalent).
- Confirm. The video is removed from TikTok; your Social Cascade calendar may still show the past post as posted history.
Note: This matches Instagram—published content must be managed in the native app.
How to Reschedule a TikTok Post
For posts that are not yet published:
- Open the Calendar and click the scheduled TikTok post.
- Change the date and time, then Save.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Delete is disabled or I see an error for a posted TikTok | Published TikTok videos cannot be deleted via Social Cascade | Delete the video in the TikTok app (see above). |
| I deleted in TikTok but still see the post in Social Cascade | Calendar history may not mirror TikTok instantly | Refresh the calendar; the live video is gone from TikTok. |
| I cannot reschedule | Post may already be publishing | Wait for status to settle; published videos cannot be rescheduled—delete in TikTok if needed. |
FAQ
Q: Can I edit a TikTok after it is published?
A: Not through Social Cascade. TikTok generally does not allow third-party editing of published videos—create a new post if you need changes.
Q: If I delete a scheduled post in Social Cascade, is it removed from TikTok?
A: Scheduled posts were never published; cancelling them only prevents future publishing.
