Scheduling and Publishing TikTok Videos

Overview

Primary workflow: Record in the Social Cascade Teleprompter app and publish or schedule to TikTok from the post draft screen—that is how Social Cascade delivers TikTok posts today. TikTok behaves differently from Facebook and Instagram: when you use the web calendar, posts must be manually scheduled (they are not included in Post Frequency auto-scheduling). This guide covers Social Cascade Teleprompter first, then calendar scheduling.

Before You Start

  • Your TikTok Business Account must be connected to Social Cascade.
  • Your content must include a video. TikTok does not support image-only posts.
  • You must be an Admin or Editor on your team to schedule posts.

Why TikTok Is Manual-Only

Unlike Facebook and Instagram, TikTok posts are not included in the automatic scheduling system (Post Frequency). This means:

  • TikTok will not appear in auto-generated calendar slots.
  • The Post Frequency grid shows "Off" for TikTok — this is by design, not an error.
  • You must manually choose when to publish each TikTok video when scheduling from the calendar.

How to Publish from Social Cascade Teleprompter

  1. Record your video using the teleprompter app.
  2. On the Post Draft screen, select TikTok as a publishing platform.
  3. Add your caption and hashtags.
  4. Choose Post Now to publish immediately, or Schedule to set a future date and time.
  5. Tap Submit.

How to Schedule a TikTok Video from the Calendar

  1. Navigate to the Calendar in the Social Cascade web app.
  2. Click on a date and time to create a new post, or click an existing post to edit it.
  3. In the post editor, make sure your content includes a video.
  4. In the platform selector, toggle TikTok on. If TikTok is greyed out, it means your content does not include a video.
  5. Write your caption (up to 2,200 characters).
  6. Choose your preferred date and time for publishing.
  7. Click Schedule to queue the post.

Understanding the "Pending" Status

After you publish or a scheduled TikTok post is sent, you may see the post status change to "Pending" instead of immediately showing as "Posted." This is normal.

TikTok processes uploaded videos before making them public. This processing step typically takes 1 to 5 minutes but can occasionally take longer for larger videos. Once TikTok finishes processing, the post status in Social Cascade will automatically update to "Posted."

You do not need to take any action during this time — the update happens automatically.

Troubleshooting

Issue Cause Fix
I cannot select TikTok in the platform selector Your content does not include a video Add a video to your content. TikTok only supports video posts.
My post is stuck on "Pending" for more than 30 minutes TikTok may be experiencing processing delays Wait and check back later. If the post is still pending after 24 hours, try deleting it and creating a new one.
TikTok shows "Off" in my Post Frequency settings This is expected behavior TikTok posts cannot be auto-scheduled. Schedule TikTok manually from Social Cascade Teleprompter or the Calendar.
My TikTok post failed The video may not meet TikTok's requirements Check that your video is under 10 minutes, in a supported format (MP4, MOV, WebM), and that your caption is under 2,200 characters.

FAQ

A: No. TikTok posts must be scheduled manually from the calendar when you use that path. The Post Frequency auto-scheduling feature does not include TikTok.

Q: Can I schedule a TikTok post and a Facebook post at the same time?

A: Yes. When creating a post, you can select multiple platforms. Just make sure the content includes a video if TikTok is selected.

Q: How long does TikTok take to process my video?

A: Usually 1 to 5 minutes. Larger or longer videos may take more time.
