Using the Recommended Tab in Add Content
Overview
When you open the Add Content dialog from the Calendar in Social Cascade, the first thing you'll see is the Recommended tab — a short list of content from your team's library and subscribed Streams that's been ranked for the time slot you clicked. Use it to fill a calendar day in seconds without scrolling through all of your content.
Before You Start
- Make sure your team has at least one connected social profile (the recommendations are scored against the platform you select in the Add Content form).
- Make sure your team has content available — either in My Content in Streams or in your team's content library. The Recommended tab needs candidate content to rank.
- You need an Editor or Admin role to actually schedule a recommended post.
How to Open the Recommended Tab
- Open the Calendar from the left sidebar.
- Click an empty day or the + button on a day where you want to schedule a post.
- The Add Content modal opens with the Recommended collection already selected on the left panel.
- Pick the social platform(s) and time for the post — the recommendation list updates each time you change them.
You can switch back to all of your content at any time by clicking All Content or any individual stream in the left panel.
How Recommendations Are Ranked
Each item in the Recommended list shows a number (1, 2, 3 …) representing its rank for that time slot. The ranking blends:
- Whether the content matches the platform(s) you selected.
- How recently the content was used (or hasn't been used) by your team.
- How well the content fits the day and time you're scheduling for.
- Categories the content belongs to and the streams you follow.
The list is capped at 30 items and is grouped into batches. Use the More options button at the top right of the list to load the next batch if none of the current picks fit.
Scheduling a Recommended Post
- Click a card in the Recommended list. The card expands and shows a preview, captions, and the Schedule button.
- Adjust the post date, time, caption, or platform if needed.
- Click Schedule to add it to the calendar.
After scheduling, the modal resets the Recommended picker so you can pick another day without re-opening the modal.
When You'll See "No recommendations for this slot"
If the Recommended panel shows "No recommendations for this slot," it means none of your available content matched the platform/time you selected. The most common reasons are:
- You've only connected a TikTok profile but the content in your library is image-based (TikTok requires video).
- You've already scheduled all of the content that fit this slot.
- You haven't subscribed to any Streams or added content to your team library yet.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Couldn't load recommendations. Please try again." | A temporary network or service error. | Click Retry. If it keeps happening, close and re-open the Add Content modal. |
| The Recommended tab is empty | You haven't subscribed to any streams and your team library has no items, or the platform you selected has no compatible content. | Subscribe to a stream in Streams > Available Streams, upload content to your library, or change the selected platform. |
| The same item keeps showing up first | It's a strong fit for that day/time and platform. | Click More options to load the next batch of picks, or open All Content to choose any item directly. |
| I don't see the Recommended tab at all | You may be opening the Add Content modal from a context that defaults to a specific stream. | Click Recommended at the top of the left panel inside the modal. |
FAQ
Q: Does using a recommended post count differently than picking content myself?
A: No. Once scheduled, the post is treated identically to any other scheduled post.
Q: Can I dismiss a recommendation I never want to see again?
A: Not yet — but loading More options will move past the current batch.
Q: Are recommendations the same on every team?
A: No. They're scored against your team's connected platforms, the time slot you picked, and the content available to your team — so different teams will get different picks.
