Forgot Your Facebook Password?
If you've forgotten your Facebook password, you won't be able to connect your organization's Page to our platform. Follow these steps to regain access to your personal Facebook account. The process is straightforward, but it requires you to have access to the email address or phone number you used when you created the account.
Step 1: Go to the Account Recovery Page
Go to Facebook's official account recovery page:
https://www.facebook.com/login/identify
Step 2: Identify Your Account
On the recovery page, you will be prompted to search for your account. You can do this in a few ways:
- Email address: Enter the email address you use to log into Facebook.
- Phone number: Enter the phone number associated with your Facebook account.
- Full name or username: If you don't remember the email or phone number, you can try searching by your full name or Facebook username. If multiple accounts match, you will be asked to identify yours by a profile picture or other details.
Step 3: Choose Your Password Reset Method
Once you've found your account, Facebook will show you options for resetting your password. The most common methods are:
- Send code via email: A password reset code will be sent to the email address on your account.
- Send code via SMS: A password reset code will be sent to the phone number on your account.
Choose the method you have access to, and a six-digit code will be sent to your selected contact method.
Step 4: Enter the Recovery Code
Check your email inbox or phone's text messages for the code from Facebook. Enter this code on the recovery page and click Continue.
- Tip: If you don't see the email, check your spam or junk folder.
Step 5: Create a New Password
After you enter the correct code, you will be prompted to create a new, secure password.
- Choose a strong password that is difficult to guess.
- Avoid using personal information like your birth date or a pet's name.
- It's a good practice to use a password manager to securely store your passwords.
Once you have created and confirmed your new password, you will be able to log in to your personal Facebook account again. You can then proceed with connecting your Page to our platform.
What if I don't have access to my email or phone number?
If you have lost access to both the email and phone number associated with your account, the recovery process becomes more difficult. You will need to click the "No longer have access to these?" link on the account recovery page.
Facebook may then prompt you to provide additional information to verify your identity, such as:
- Trusted Contacts: If you set up this feature previously, Facebook can send a recovery code to 3-5 of your trusted friends.
- Identity Verification: Facebook may ask you to upload a government-issued photo ID (e.g., a driver's license or passport) to prove you are the account owner.
This process can take some time as Facebook's team reviews your information.
