Forgot Your Instagram Username or Password?

If you've forgotten your Instagram login details, you won't be able to connect your organization's account to our platform. The good news is that Instagram has a straightforward recovery process that you can follow from the mobile app or a web browser.

Forgot Your Password?

This is the most common issue and is easily solved if you have access to the email address or phone number associated with the account.

1. Open the Instagram App: On the login screen, tap Forgot password? below the login fields.

   Enter Your Details: You will be prompted to find your account by entering your email address, phone number, or username.

   • If you know your username, enter it.

   • If you don't know your username, enter the email address or phone number you used to sign up.

     Choose a Reset Method:

   • Instagram will ask how you want to receive the password reset link or code. Choose your preferred method: Email or SMS (text message).

   • Tap Continue.

     Check for the Reset Link:

   • If you chose Email, check your inbox for a message from Instagram. Click the "Reset password" link in the email.
   • If you chose SMS, you will receive a six-digit code via text message. Enter the code in the app.
2. Create a New Password: Once you've clicked the link or entered the code, you can create a new password for your account. Choose a strong, secure password that is unique to this account.

Forgot Your Username?

If you can't remember your Instagram username, you can still find it using your email address or phone number.

1. On the password recovery screen, enter the email address or phone number linked to your account.
2. Instagram will then display a list of all usernames associated with that contact information.
3. You can then select your organization's account from the list and proceed with a password reset.

Tip: If you can't access the email or phone number, try looking for old emails from Instagram in your inbox. The username is often mentioned in welcome emails or notifications.

What If I Don’t Have Access to the Email or Phone Number?

If you cannot access the email or phone number linked to the account, the recovery process becomes more difficult.

1. From the login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your username.
2. Tap the link that says, "Can't access your email or phone number?"
3. Instagram may ask you to perform a selfie video verification. This is a security feature where you record a short video of yourself turning your head in different directions. This video is used to confirm your identity and that you are the real owner of the account. This process is only available if your profile has a clear picture of your face.
4. After the verification, Instagram's support team will review your submission and contact you via an alternate email address you provide.
