Viewing YouTube Comments in Your Inbox

Overview

Once your YouTube channel is connected to Social Cascade, comments on your YouTube Shorts are pulled into your team's Inbox alongside Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok comments. This gives you a single place to monitor audience engagement across the platforms you publish to from Social Cascade Teleprompter.

Before You Start

  • Your YouTube channel is connected in Team Settings. See Connecting Your YouTube Channel to Social Cascade.
  • You have published at least one Short via Social Cascade — comment sync only covers posts that flow through our publishing partner.
  • Comments may take a short time to appear in the Inbox after they are posted on YouTube.

How to View YouTube Comments

  1. In the Social Cascade web app, open Inbox from the left sidebar.
  2. Select the Comments tab.
  3. Use the platform filter at the top to show only YouTube, or leave it on All to view every platform together.
  4. Click any comment to see the original post, the commenter, and any moderation actions available.

This is a platform-side limitation today. Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok all support replies and moderation directly from the Inbox.

Tips for Managing YouTube Engagement

  • Use the Inbox to triage — see which Shorts are getting engagement and which need a response.
  • When you spot a comment that needs attention, open YouTube Studio in another tab to reply or moderate.
  • Keep your YouTube connection healthy in Team Settings so new comments continue to sync.

Troubleshooting

I don't see YouTube comments in the Inbox Confirm YouTube is connected in Team Settings, and that you've published Shorts through Social Cascade. Wait a few minutes — comments sync on a schedule, not instantly.

FAQ

Q: Can I reply to YouTube comments from Social Cascade like I do for Facebook or Instagram?

A: Not today. YouTube replies must be done in YouTube Studio or the YouTube app. We surface comments so you can monitor and triage; replies require platform-native tools.

Q: Do older YouTube comments sync, or only new ones?

A: Comment sync covers posts published through Social Cascade going forward. Comments on videos uploaded directly in YouTube Studio (outside Social Cascade) won't appear in the Inbox.

Q: Why is YouTube treated differently from Facebook and Instagram?

A: YouTube's API access for third-party comment moderation is more restricted. We surface what's available — viewing comments — and recommend YouTube Studio for replies and moderation.
