Troubleshooting Common Errors
If you encounter an issue while trying to connect your account, here are the most common errors and how to fix them.
Error: "This Instagram account is already connected to another Business."
An Instagram account can only be in one Business Manager account at a time. If you see this error, it means the account is currently owned by another Business Manager.
- Solution: You need to be an Admin of the other Business Manager to remove the Instagram account. Go to the other Business Manager's settings, find the Instagram account, and remove it. If you don't have access, you will need to contact the Admin of the other Business Manager.
Error: "Your Instagram account is not a Business Account."
This error confirms that your Instagram account is still a personal profile.
- Solution: You must first convert your personal account to a Business or Creator account from within the Instagram mobile app. See our guide on Instagram Business vs. Personal Accounts for instructions.
Error: "Your Page and Instagram account must be in the same Business Manager account."
This error appears when you try to link your accounts on another platform. It means that your Facebook Page and Instagram account are in separate Business Manager accounts.
- Solution: Both assets must be added to the same Business Manager. You will need to remove one from its current Business Manager and add it to the correct one.
