Creating and Submitting a Post

Overview

After you have a recording (“take”), the Post Draft screen is where you add a caption, hashtags, choose platforms, and decide whether to post now, schedule, or save for your team stream.

Before You Start

  • Complete a take, then tap Create Post (from Record or Recordings).
  • Social accounts must be connected for publishing; if none are connected, connect them from the Social Cascade web dashboard first.

How to compose and submit

  1. Review and edit the Caption (required before posting; suggested text may come from your script).
  2. Add hashtags with Add (there is a maximum per Instagram rules — the app shows when you reach the limit).
  3. Under Platforms, select where to publish.
  4. Under Post Options:
    • Post Now — publish immediately to selected platforms.
    • Schedule — pick date and time, then confirm with Schedule post in the schedule sheet.
    • Save to My Stream — upload for team review without immediate publishing (especially important for Viewer roles).
  5. If you are editing an existing post and changed caption or hashtags, tap Save Changes.

Platform Duration Limits

Each social platform has its own limits for short-form video (Reels / Shorts). Social Cascade handles these automatically:

Platform Format Max Duration What happens if exceeded
Facebook Reels 90 seconds Automatically posted as a standard Feed video instead
Instagram Reels 90 seconds Instagram may reject videos over the limit
TikTok Video 10 minutes TikTok may reject or trim the video
YouTube Shorts 60 seconds Published as a regular YouTube video instead of a Short

When posting a Reels-type video to Facebook that is longer than 90 seconds, Social Cascade posts it as a Feed video so your content still gets published.

Role limits (Viewer)

If your role is Viewer, you will see: “Your role limits posting to My Stream. An Admin or Editor can publish or schedule it from there.” You can still save to My Stream; Post Now and Schedule are not available.

Facebook Reel became a Feed video Video exceeds 90-second Reels limit Expected behavior — trim the video to 90 seconds or shorter if you want it as a Reel

FAQ

Q: Does the app remember my draft?

A: Yes. New post drafts are auto-saved locally so you can leave and return.

Q: Why did my Facebook Reel post as a regular video?

A: Facebook Reels have a 90-second maximum. Longer videos are automatically published as Feed videos so your content still goes live.
